oh hai!  
Hello all, I recently joined this community and thought I should give a proper intro. I'm a 22 year old college student who has been struggling with ED (anorexia) for nearly all my life. Until I left home for college I averaged around 100lbs because I didn't feel like I deserved to eat (long story). But in college I found happiness, acceptance and love and the pounds began to pile on, which I was fine with. Over the last four years I gradually gained about 30lbs but stayed healthy and went to the gym when I could (once or twice a week usually). However, last summer I went on a trip and returned home with souvenirs, pictures and an additional 10lbs. Yikes! Being 5'3" that really made a difference, and coming home to find none of my pants fitting was rather unsettling. Needless to say, the ED I had so valiantly pushed aside for years resurfaced. However, this time without the depression so I've been trying diligently to remain healthy on this journey of weight loss.
So, that's my diet story. Right now my routine is basically to only eat when hungry and avoid stuffing myself. I'm trying my best now go to the gym 3x a week which includes upper body weight set and 30min each of stationary bike, elliptical and treadmill with 5lb ankle weights on (Love those things!)

New Year Neurosis
Hey, I'm 22 and graduated from Uni last year...my weight has been an on/off issue but I'm hoping to lose about 10 kg in the next 3/4 months (as of yesterday I weigh 78kg). I'm at the start of the second week now, trying to make sure I don't lose more muscle than fat which is exactly what happened last time because I didn't understand a thing about healthy weight loss.

I honestly can't remember the weeks I spent eating really little one summer. I just remember spending a lot of time having no energy and feeling hungry. I just joined this community hoping there would be people going through the same thing. At the moment I'm trying to get in plenty of different types of exercise (cardio, pilates, weights, dance) for 4 hours a week so that I can eat sensible amounts of food every day and still lose weight.

Anyway, thanks for coming on here and good luck to everyone here wanting to lose weight healthily!

Making healthy choices is one of the best things you can do to combat ED. You deserve to feel awesome in your body- good luck to you!!
